


In the framework of the Nexus project, colleagues from the University of Nis and Leman visited Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in its Genoa office last week.
The three organizations worked synergistically to define 3 key actions to be implemented by 2025 in their respective organizations. Unconscious bias, parenting support, and the gender+ dimension in research are the working themes that will be developed and explored in intersectional and intersectoral perspectives, charting new trajectories of organizational development.
Vanessa De Luca from IIT presented Nexus at the WORLD FORUM FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE highlighting its role as a catalyst for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within research and innovation ecosystems. This online scientific conference took place from April 15th to 17th, followed by a networking meeting on April 19th at Parco della Musica in Rome. Vanessa De Luca took part in the World Forum for Women in Science (WFWS) 2024 – ENVISIONING TOMORROW on April 17th (12:15 -13:45). She contributed to a panel discussion titled “Sustainable, Inclusive, Decolonized Innovation.” Her talk centered on “Nexus’s Innovative Approach to Addressing Diversity Gaps in Research and Innovation.
On March 26th , Sofia University held the first session of an Open Lab for the NEXUS project. Important issues related to inequalities were discussed. The purpose of the event was to continue develop the university as an inclusive place to work and study.
Prominent scientists, representatives of the Ministry of Education, representatives of NGOs and the management of Sofia University participated in the meeting. All of them became involved in the drafting of policies for increased commitment and organizational culture.
Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia held two Open Labs with internal staff and external stakeholders to collaboratively design inclusive initiatives aimed at fostering intersectional and intersectoral inclusivity within the institute on 18th of March and 8th of April.
Online training provided to internal staff at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) focuses on “Incorporating Intersectional and Intersectoral Perspectives into Research and Innovation” was held on 7th and 8th of March.
